How to Make a Shamrock

free puzzles

Many materials can be used in making a shamrock. The easiest way to make a shamrock is to paint it green. Using a green sponge paint, you can make a shamrock that looks festive and traditional. You can also decorate an old toilet paper roll to be used as a Shamrock.

Glue a white accordion band to the back of the shamrock, lower left.

Make a shamrock from white construction paper. Next, fold the paper half accordion-style. Then glue the strips to the back of your shamrock.

Alternativly, you could paint a shamrock green on a piece thick white paper. Then sprinkle some gold powder on top. The shamrock will sparkle once it is dry. You can either tie the shamrock on a clotheshanger to make a mobile, or attach it to a ribbon of 24 inches to make a necklace for St. Patrick's Day.

Divide a pipe cleaner in three equal sections

This shamrock craft can be made in a few minutes and it is great for practicing motor skills. Start by cutting a pipe cleaner in three equal lengths and wrapping each one around one finger. To create the stem, wrap the pipe cleaner around each finger. Continue this process until all the pipe cleaners are twisted together.

Twist the pieces together until you get a tight knot. With the remaining pipe cleaner, continue the process. You will wind it around the stem until you get it as tight or better than the previous section. Bend back the pipe cleaner if needed to make it fit better.

Divide a roll toilet paper into 3 equal sections

Divide a roll of toilet tissue into three equal parts to make your Shamrock. Cut each section into a small heart shape. Next, fold the top point towards the bottom. You can continue this process until all three pieces have equal height.

The next step is to shape the hearts by rolling them over a pencil. The next step is to glue one heart on top of the other. This will create the stem of your heart. After this, glue another heart to the back of the shamrock.

Divide a shamrock and make 3 equal sections

First draw a circle to divide the shamrock into equal parts. Next, draw three equally spaced lines around that circle. These lines will form three of the shamrocks' three parts, which are the leaves. Each petal should have a slight gap at its center.

Traditionally, a shamrock is three leaves long and two leaves wide. The three leaves are supposed to represent the Father and Son as well as the Holy Spirit. A shamrock today can have four leaves. The fourth leaf is God's grace. It is also believed that "shamrock" originated from the Irish word, seamrog. There are no rules that define which clover species are "true Shamrocks".
